Depending on your specific treatment, our dentists may use an intraoral camera to get a better look at your teeth. An intraoral camera is a small, wand-like device with a camera on the end that is used to look inside your mouth and project those images onto a screen. This allows Dr. Joseph Kayne and Dr. John Wilson to make better diagnoses of dental problems by taking a closer look at parts of your mouth that cannot be seen by the naked eye.

This maneuverable instrument can move around your mouth easily to look at parts of your gums, teeth and cheeks. Our dentists can better diagnose a variety of dental problems and conditions that need further attention. The camera may also be used during a follow-up to see if your condition has improved. The images can also be submitted to insurance companies or be referred to other providers or specialists for analysis. It also gives you, the patient, the opportunity to be more involved in your treatment by seeing what the dentist sees and making proper decisions as to what your best interests are for treatment.
